# 47 'Goin south'

Halloh. The next big adventure will be Sigrid, Mike and I traveling to the very south islands and into Malaysia. We had a two day stopover in Hua Hin for a last visit with Keith, Chris and another Mike. Keith and Chris are from England, Mike from Wales. Yesterday was Manchester Mikes birthday. We had a little happy hour on our guesthouse pier.
These lovely ladies are from Holland and posed with the birthday boy.
Next stop, Krabi.
Bye for now, Doahlah

# 46.1 Doi Suthep

Hi. We went to DS on a Saturdy. Bad choice, it was packed with Thai making prayers for the new year. Oh well.

# 46 Doi Suthep

Halloh. I pushed the wrong button again. Sigrid and I spent a Saturday afternoon visiting the Granddaddy of all temples. Doi Suthep was built in the 1300's on the mountainside west of C.M. But for the smog over the city, the view is incredible. There are alot of steps. This temple cat was having a snoozy.

# 45 Back in Thailand

Hi. Sigrid and I didn't communicate as well as we could have, but did meet in time to catch the last shutle into BKK. Sukhumvit was rocking with card table street bars, tourists, prostitutes and lots of Kathoey srutting theie stuff. We stayed up until 3 A.M. We walked around the next morning and took a night train to Chiang Mai.
This first image is from the Kiaoshiung station but wouldn't fit on the last entry. Sang Som, nam kang!

# 44.1 Kiaoshiung

The next morning Annie hopped a train from her home in Pingtung to spend the day with me. We met at the station. These first images are artwork in the train station. After dinner we walked along the river. She took a late train home. The next morning I hopped a train for Taoyuan and an evening flight back to BKK to meet Sigrid who would be arriving from Seattle 30 minutes before me.
Taiwan is a great place to visit. It would be better to have a friend. Taiwanese are very kind and helpful, but there is a formidable languge barrier. It's difficult to meet new friends.

# 44 Kiaoshiung

Hi. After motoring around Little Liushiu the afternoon and the next morning, I took the boat back. I flagged a bus with English type for Kiaoshiung. It'sTaiwans second largest city and the fourth largest port in the world. I only had two nights left before returning to Bangkok. I would have stayed longer. It was a great cosmopolitan city.
These people are fishing indoors for jumbo shrimp. They BBQ them right there. This dog felt very comfortable laying in the syreet. I took a river boat cruise the first afternoon. This a photo from the boat. A tattoo shop advert.

# 43.1 Little Liuchiu

Hi. My motorbike seat had an embroitered (sp) seat cover. This is a trailerthat is towed to a desired location, plugged into a power source and lit up as a Karoake stage.
Someone is cokking some food outdoors in a big wood fired oven. Tasty local food. Kinda like little burgers with meat and spices.

# 43 to little Liuchiu

Halloh! Wandering around Kenting looking for a bus, I found a taxi guy that would drive me to Dongang for about $10 U.S. He dropped me at the ferry pier to make the voyage to Little Liuchiu. Sorry Annie, I have already forgotten the spelling. I stayed on night and hired a motorbike to circumnavigate the island.
The weather was fine, and no one spoke English. The two most understood words throughout the world are OK and Coca Cola. This sign is advertising Karoake. Thats my shadow.

# 42 Kentin National Forest Recreation area.

Halloh. I took a nature walk in the park. There were ten busloads of students there too. I know, this is terrible, but I thought it was kind of funny.
Gotta Go! Doahlah

# 42 Kenting

Halloh. I had two Mr. Hots. They were giant corndogs with all the trimmings. One evening the town was overrun with students on holiday. Some new friends. The boy to my right gave me a big hug when the group left. This is Rose. She has a gift shop at the National park.
I'm running short of time. Gotta catch a bus.
