# 50.1 Langwaki
Hi. One day we hired a car from our motel and toured the island. It was a raggedy old machine, but had aircon, sort of! They drive on the english side so Mike was appointed official driver. When he would grind a gear, he would say, "If you can't find one, make another"!
The highlight of the day was riding a gondola to the top of the highest mountain, 720 metres in elevation. Only two towers supported the entire length of cable. Sigrid was nervous and became more so when I pretended to attempt to get the car swinging. When the cars reach the top platform you can hop off or continue to another hilltop across a valley. This third image is a bridge spanning two additional hills. It is reached after a 10 minute walk through the forest. The drop from the bridge was 100 metres or so.
This young lady sold hand painted rocks at one of the station platforms. Her eyes are not that color. Shes wearing contact lenses.
D.
