The Mekong is very wide here. Every evening this long boat takes folks out for a sunset cruise. This is the Friendship Bridge. During the cruise, the boat gets to within 30 feet of the Lao side of the river. Heres a fuzzty shot of a huge gold Buddah on the hillside.
There is not much in the way of nightlife in Nhan Kai. On my walk to the boat I passed a small bar. The lady encouraged me to come back in the evening. She said there would be 'many ladies' working. After motoring up river to the Friendship bridge, the boat turned and cruised the waterfront downtown. We passed a lighted bar that looked promising. After docking I made my way back there.
