Ouch!

The most dangerous place in Asia is the Thai style bathroom. In this type of bathroom, the tile floor is the shower stall. These floors are like glare ice when soapy wet. On Dec. 2nd, (in the morning!) I slipped. My hand hit the stiker plate on the door jam.
The ladies at Bird Guest house asked if I wanted to go to a cheap hospital or expensive one. Cheap Charlie naturally chose the first option. The lady on the right sewed 10 sutures. The ER visit also included a Tetnance (sp) shot, antibiotic capsules and some ibuprofen. The bill was 220 bht, about $21. As requested, I returned the next day for a wound cleaning and dressing change. That days charges were 50 bht, about $1.65. There were three more visits at 50 bht each time. The sutures were removed after one week. Another 50 bht. The toughest part of this ordeal was the "no water" instructions. That meant, NO SWIMMING, for 10 days.
