Another night train

The train station was filled with a photo display honouring the King. Heres Keith. It was OK to sit on the floor, but if someone was lying down having a rest, they were quickly rousted by police. You don't lie down in front of an image of His Highness.
Here's a photo of my berth. The light bulb was not burned out! The car in sleep down mode.

Day trip

This is Sa. She's the cashier at Cheers Bar. On her day off, we drove her motorbike down the coast to a small beach. There was one small beach restaurant and some lounge chairs. My hand was better. We swam in the sea, had some ba muk (squid), a seafood salad and some cold beer. It was a good day.

Hua Hin

The Kings Birthday was Dec. 5. There was singing and fireworks. In Bangkok it's a huge thing. These ladies are waiting to order food form this motor cart vender. It must be pretty good. The boy was afraid I would give his photo to the police. Fruit devivery day at Bird Guest house.

Hua Hin.

The first week in Hua was windy, with very high tides. At high tide the sea always splashes under the rooms. One morning the sea was splashing into my room. That's my window on the right. That's my roombottom right with my swim shorts hanging on the line. I left them on the linein April and Lot saved them for me until my return.

Ouch!

The most dangerous place in Asia is the Thai style bathroom. In this type of bathroom, the tile floor is the shower stall. These floors are like glare ice when soapy wet. On Dec. 2nd, (in the morning!) I slipped. My hand hit the stiker plate on the door jam.
The ladies at Bird Guest house asked if I wanted to go to a cheap hospital or expensive one. Cheap Charlie naturally chose the first option. The lady on the right sewed 10 sutures. The ER visit also included a Tetnance (sp) shot, antibiotic capsules and some ibuprofen. The bill was 220 bht, about $21. As requested, I returned the next day for a wound cleaning and dressing change. That days charges were 50 bht, about $1.65. There were three more visits at 50 bht each time. The sutures were removed after one week. Another 50 bht. The toughest part of this ordeal was the "no water" instructions. That meant, NO SWIMMING, for 10 days.
