The City Museum was so much fun, we spent two days there. It is housed in a building that was a shoe factory. There is a spiral slide used to send shoes to floors below for additional work. Now it's a people slide seven stories tall. Outside are various cages for climbing. There is a crafts area, and for grownups, two bars!St. Louis is struggling to reinvent itself. It is a mixture of derelict buildings and beautiful restored lofts and townhouses. We stayed in the Soulard district in a youth hostel. In the neighboorhood were more than 25 bars and restaraunts. The district is home of the second largest Mardi Gras celebration in the U.S. More next blog.
