This first image is from the deck of my hotel looking across at the night market. In the upper right corner behind the white car is a day market with hundreds of tiny family run shops. There is barely enough room to move about. I don't know how they can secure their product at. They probably don't.

Night Market

Visa Run
Halloh. Long time no blog. What with me being to stupid to work Picasa 3.6, I had to find a coputer with an older version loaded.
I had such a fun time in Cambodia I went back for a few weeks. These monkies are everywhere in Phenom Penh. Some people enclose their decks with fish net to keep them away from their stuff.

C.M. Zoo 2
The biggest attraction are the two young Pandas. Their home is air conditioned, and there is an additional admission fee.
It's been very hot here in C.M. Nearly 100 F. for several days. The farmers are burning the rice chaff all around the north. The pollution is awful. The sun rose bright red this morning.
I don't know if Thai politics makes the western news. After the Supreme Court ruled to take $1.6 million of his frozen assets, his supporters began to react. Four genades were detonated at branches of the Bangkok bank. Thaksin has his own television station and broadcasts long speeches from exile in Dubai. On Mar. 12. 100,000 pick up trucks full of his supporters have promised to close the roads in BKK. An assualt rifle, a hand gun and 3,000 rounds of ammunition along with 200 hand grenades were stolen from a military base. Many soldiers in the army are Thaksin supporters. It could get interesting. I fly to Cambodia tomorrow. Good timing huh!?

Chiang Mai revisited
Upon leaving Cambodia, Manchester Mike flew back to Chiang Mai while David and I headed south. It's nice to see him again. Here is the current crop of old farts hanging out at pervs corner. From left to right, Doablah (US), Pete (UK), Alex (NL), Mike, (UK), Gene (CN) and Trevor (UK).
Here is Tom (UK) and Darcy (Latvia) hiding from the camera. A better shot of Darcy.
OKAY! You're up to date. More later.

Khao Lak last
On an early morning beach walk I stubbed my toe on a rock about the size of a tennis ball. Holy crikey, ouch! I think it's 'broke'.
On our last day, I motor biked up the coast to see the Tsunami Victims cemetary. I didn't know until I got there that it is all graves of unidentified people. There are hundreds of numbered graves. Across the street is a large building. In it, medical personnel used DNA, dental records and photos to try to find out who they were.
People here don't like to talk about it. The owner of our resort lost his mother and a sister.
Another awful night bus got us back to Hua Hin. There are two bus rides from Hua Hin directly to Chiang Mai. It takes twelve hours. They leave 8 A.M. or 5 P.M. We took the day bus!
